Intercession
Many of us may have the mistaken understanding of "intercession" as praying in a manner of "begging or pleading" God. However, that is certainly not blibical and especially that it is not the manner our Father wants to treat the children of God.
We need to be inline with Scripture:
John 16:23 KJV
And in that day ye shall ask me nothing.
Verily, verily, I say unto you,
Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.
Let's look at what intercession means in the Bible:
Outline of Biblical Usage:
to encounter, meet, reach, entreat, make intercession.
1) to meet, light upon, join
2) to meet (of kindness)
3) to encounter, fall upon (of hostility)
4) to encounter, entreat (of request)
5) to strike, touch (of boundary)
The KJV translates Strongs H6293 in the following manner: fall (12x), meet (11x), reach (7x), intercession (4x), intreat (2x), entreat (1x), misc (9x).
Strong's Definitions: פָּגַע pâgaʻ, paw-gah'; a primitive root; to impinge, by accident or violence, or (figuratively) by importunity:—come (betwixt), cause to entreat, fall (upon), make intercession, intercessor, intreat, lay, light (upon), meet (together), pray, reach, run.
... and none of it implies an attitude of begging.
