Faith Cometh

A word of Knowledge
On Faith Cometh

Romans 10:17 KJV
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

How does faith cometh?

Faith cometh by hearing the word of God.
No! that is not what was written!

So then, what does it really mean?
Let us break it down into the 2 parts:

1) "faith cometh by hearing"
The key to understanding this is in the word "hearing".
"Hearing what?", one might ask.

Hearing the voice of God who speaks within or to you.

John 10:27 KJV
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

2) "and hearing by the Word of God"
Now, how do you tell if what you heard is the voice of God?
It is by the Word of God.

When God speaks, it is always aligned and in line with His own written words, the Word of God, the Bible.

Many a time, you will even hear the exact verses written in the Bible being quoted to you even when you have no memory of the verses.

John 14:26 KJV
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

In any case, you will find absolutely nothing that is in contradiction.
For God cannot contradict Himself, be it spoken or written.

Therefore, this is what the verse is really saying, to paraphrase it:

Faith comes not by hearing the words of man preaching the word of God
but
Faith comes by hearing Jesus, the Word of God Himself!
