A word of Wisdom: Have you fallen into Idolatry?
Have you fallen into Idolatry?
Colossians 3:5-6 KJV
Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth;
fornication,
uncleanness,
inordinate affection,
evil concupiscence,
and covetousness,
which is idolatry:
[6] For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:
In recent days, there is an exponential increasing number of unknowing believers who have fallen prey to the trap of idolatry and are still ignorant of it.
Unlike the past generations, aided by the development in technology and media, there is now almost no resistance against the temptations brought forth by the devil today.
In particular, this form of idolatry gaining possession of the souls is the "inordinate affection" of man.
Inordinate affection is seen as a form of idolatry because it places a person or thing above God in one's heart and life.
Believers and the world alike are being mesmerised by the likes of the following:
- Presidential candidates
- Country leaders
- Political and Economic leaders
- Tech Industry leaders
- Entertainers (Actors, Singers, Idols etc)
- Movies and Dramas
- Professional Athletics
- Sports stars and teams
- Religious leaders
- Superstar pastors, prophets and ministers
- etc.
These are all idolatry that have nothing to do with God.
They are all mortal sinful man.
Why should you pay attention to what they have to say and do or even holding any of them in high regards?
Romans 2:11 KJV
For there is no respect of persons with God.
Many possessed believers are unknowingly worshipping these men and women, which is effectively placing them above God.
We only need to hear what comes out of the mouth often of the possessed believers in normal, usual times to know where their hearts belonged to,
and it is hardly about God, if any at all.
They have made these mortal men and women more important than God, keeping them in their minds and hearts all the time instead of God.
They have, unbeknownst to themselves, replaced God with these many idols in their daily mundane life for however a short period of time for each idol in each situation.
Brethrens, I beseech you, be not disobedient any more, be not stiff-necked any more nor finding more excuses nor coming up with rationalisation,
But,
Repent now, put to death your inordinate affections which is your idolatry and turn back to our Lord Jesus Christ!
Mark 12:30 KJV
And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength:
this is the first commandment.
John 8:31-32 KJV
Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him,
If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
[32] And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
