Worship in spirit and in truth
A word of Wisdom
On Worship in spirit and in truth
John 4:24-26 KJV
God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.
Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.
~~~
Meditations:
Jesus is a Spirit.
He is come and indeed tells us of all things by His Holy Spirit.
We do not need to depend on any biblical teachers nor pastors to teach us any thing though they did bring some insights once in a while.
So few are Spirit-filled teachers.
Hebrews 4:12 KJV
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Even fewer are able to give us any messages of God that pierces "even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit".
Luke 24:32 KJV
And they said one to another,
Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?
How many of these sermons and teachings have you heard that strangely warm your hearts as though Christ Himself is speaking with you directly?
Many of them are only capable of giving carnal teachings of intellectual head knowledge just like the Pharisees and Sadducees of old and just like the Roman Catholic church in which the formation of the Protestant church was modeled after and inherited.
These sermons do not pierce nor burn our hearts into actions and fire but merely come and go the moment our intellectual minds are no longer on the matter.
Many are still treating as though Jesus resides in the church building only, the Presence of God is only found in the gathering of the church building and treating pastors and scholastic commentaries as the only qualified teacher of the Bible, sundays after sundays.
We must come back to worship Him in spirit and in truth and seek the wisdom and understanding by the Holy Spirit to reveal to us the Word of God ourselves.
Who else is qualified to teach us, other than the One who speaks the very Word?
Where else are we to worship Him, other than in spirit and in truth?
The "spirit" here refers to both the vital principle mental disposition or "in essence" and also the spirit of man.
