"Having Begun In The Spirit"

”Having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?”

Now let us try to learn that this word to the Galatians teaches us—some very simple thoughts.

(1) It shows us how the beginning of the Christian life is receiving the Holy Spirit.

(2) It shows us what great danger there is of forgetting that we are to live by the Spirit, and not live after the flesh.

(3) It shows us what are the fruits and the proofs of our seeking perfection in the flesh.

(4) It suggests to us the way of deliverance from this state.
