A word of Wisdom: The Pride of Reverand

A word of Wisdom:

The Pride of Reverend

Pastors, did you know that by desiring or even allowing to be called the title "Reverend" you are actually going against the Word of God?

Romans 14:23 KJV

for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.

The title "Reverend" comes from the Latin word "reverendus," meaning "worthy of reverence.".

1 Corinthians 10:22 KJV

Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?

Are you worthy of reverence?

Do you dare to take the glory away from God?

Matthew 11:29 KJV

Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

How does being called a Reverand helps you learn of Christ to be lowly in heart?

James 4:6 KJV

God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

There is only pride and ego in this.

If you are not lowly in heart, neither will you find rest onto your souls.

Matthew 23:12 KJV

And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.

In exalting yourself, you shall be abased.

Matthew 20:25-28 KJV

But Jesus called them unto him, and said,

Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them.

[26] But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister;

[27] And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant:

[28] Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

Christ called you to be ministers of men and servsnts of men.

Never did He tells you to exalt yourself with high and mighty titles like the princes of Gentiles to exercise dominion over the congregation.

John 17:16 KJV

They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

Titles are of the world however we are not of the world.

Brethrens, do not conform yourself to the world.

Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought to think.

The title means nothing, it merely describes your role or function in the Kingdom of God.

Romans 2:11 KJV

For there is no respect of persons with God.

This prideful matter of worldly titles is not just exclusive of Reverend but includes titles such as Bishops, Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor, Teacher, Doctors, Professor, President, Chairman etc.

Romans 12:2-3 KJV

And be not conformed to this world:

but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

[3] For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

1 John 2:15-17 KJV

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world.

If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

[16] For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

[17] And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

Brethrens, are you willing to deny yourself, take up your cross daily and follow our Lord Jesus Christ?

Luke 9:24 KJV

For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.
