Praying and Singing 


1 Corinthians 14:14-15 KJV

For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful. 

[15] What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: 

I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.


Romans 8:5-6 KJV

For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. 

[6] For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.


For those of us who desire to grow in spiritual maturity in the knowledge of things of the Spirit,

Do as per Paul (inspired by the Holy Spirit) instructed.

You need to obey and do it first to experience it yourself, 

and then the understanding of the blessings and benefits will come later, afterwards.


That is, 

1) Pray in tongues for the issue that God has put in your thoughts,

and then pray out in English the interpretation of the tongues you have just spoken;

How to interpret -

God will put thoughts in your mind, the interpretations in English when you ask or convey your intentions to interpret to God with your mind while you are speaking 8n tongues or after you have spoken in tongues.


2) Sing in tongues, interlacing to sing in English;

How to get started to sing in tongues -

a. To sing in tongues, you need to be able to break down your tongue language into single syllable word and slowing down your tongue speaking; enunciate each word or syllable separately.


b. Play a worship song or hymn you are familiar with.

c. Sing in English the lyrics that you like or the chorus that you like.

d. Sing in tongues at the beginning of the song.

Submit your mind to your spirit by giving the control of your mouth, tongue, throat and voice chord to your spirit. 

Initially, your mind will constantly attempt to interfere with your spirit and the tongue-speaking; 

your spirit is the one speaking the tongue language, directly controlling your body (mouth, tongue, throat, voice chord), not your soul.

You just need to tell your mind (by your spirit) to back off/lay back or to pay attention to listen to the Holy Spirit's voice or response instead of the sound of your tongues, while you are singing or speaking in tongues.


Galatians 5:17 KJV

For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.


Galatians 6:8-9 KJV

For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. 

[9] And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts

For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.

He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself;

A Testimony of Healing - Joy Saturday, 11 April 2026 This is an account of my niece, Joy's healing journey. She is presently in the Primary 6 grade. For the past 1 year or more, Joy has been having excruciating stomach cramps, stomachaches and sometimes vomittings on a daily basis.
