A word of Wisdom: How to read the Bible
How to read the Bible
Firstly, read only the King James Bible and not any other modern translations.
Otherwise, you will not be able to follow the instructions because all other modern translations do not have the same clear voice of God.
How do you read the Bible?
No, you don't read it as a history textbook nor do you read it as you would read a fictional novel nor in any academic or scholastic manner.
The Bible is the Word of God, the very words out of the mouth of God.
The Bible is unlike any other books in the world.
It is alive.
You must read it in all the authority, power, preciousness and sacredness of the words coming out of the mouth of the Almighty God Himself.
Jesus Christ is the Word of God and the Holy Spirit is the agent whom conveys Him to us within the Bible and outside of the Bible in our daily life.
The manner to read the Bible in order to reap the fullest benefits is this:
Read as though the words are coming out from the Holy Spirit whom resides in the speaker and not out of the spirit of the speaker or author.
As the Holy Spirit dwells within you who have received the baptism with the Holy Spirit, you will also experience the same feelings and emotions and mind that the Person of the Holy Spirit experienced when He was speaking through the speaker or author of the verses in the Bible.
Yes, because you are in Christ and Christ is in you by the Holy Spirit,
You are able to read the Bible verses as though it is the Holy Spirit in you speaking out of the speaker or author of the Book.
Yes, read as though you are the Holy Spirit speaking through the speaker or author, immersing yourself into the very scene as though you are being transported there and then into the historical biblical scene,
speaking from within the speaker or author!
Some further illustratations:
In Proverbs,
- It is mostly Solomon's writings but it is really the Holy Spirit's voice speaking through Solomon.
The same manner applies to all the other books in the Old Testament as well as the New Testament.
It is the Holy Spirit describing to us the historical records or the stories therein, and,
He is speaking from within Moses, Elijah, Isaiah, Daniel or Peter, John and Paul and even the Son of man, Jesus.
The Holy Spirit was inside them then and the same Person of the Holy Spirit is inside you even now.
John 1:32-34 KJV
And John bare record, saying,
I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon Him.
[33] And I knew Him not: but He that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me,
Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on Him, the same is He which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.
[34] And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.
John 14:10 KJV
Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me?
the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself:
but the Father that dwelleth in me, He doeth the works.
Romans 8:11 KJV
But if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwelleth in you.
