A word of Wisdom: Where is the Humility?

A word of Wisdom:

Where is the Humility?

Matthew 23:8-12 KJV

But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren.

[9] And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.

[10] Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ.

[11] But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.

[12] And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.

Jesus warned us not to be called by others as Rabbi, Master or Father because "whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted".

He is referring to whosoever think too highly of themselves, in particular, in religious or spiritual matters.

In fact, He is really not referring to earthly roles and functions as in your earthly father or your academic school teacher or even your craftwork master.

I would even extend His teaching to refer to those who desired in a manner of vain glory, to be called by their titles or offices such as Apostles, Prophets, Evangelist, Pastors, Teachers, Doctors, Professors, Bible Teacher, Leaders etc, as well as those who boast in their self-importance of their accomplishments and achievements of their walk in Christ.

Alas! Most believers if not all insist and persist to disobey His teachings and often thought highly of themselves as spiritual fathers and mentors in the Way, the Truth and the Life just because of their own experiences or even offices.

They forget and ignore that,

It is the Holy Spirit who is the ONLY spiritual teacher;

It is Jesus Christ who is the ONLY head of the spiritual Body;

It is the Father who is the ONLY spiritual father.

Many mistakenly gave the example of Paul and Timothy as the relationship of a spiritual father and son.

But nowhere did Paul called himself the spiritual father of Timothy but really that Timothy is akin to his earthly son whom he raised up hand in hand. He only meant it in a carnal, earthly sense.

Now, if that makes Paul the spiritual father of Timothy then Paul would have numerous spiritual sons but he never did mentioned any others of such a relationship.

If Paul really did meant it that way, he would be going against Jesus' teaching isn't it?

Matthew 28:20 KJV

Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you:

Paul merely taught Timothy to observe all things whatsoever Christ has commanded him, the same way he taught all the other believers he encountered.

The actual spiritual teachings and scriptural understandings are taught by the Holy Spirit Himself which is the same for all believers.

No man is qualified to teach and mentor spiritual lessons other than the Holy Spirit.

John 14:26 KJV

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, He shall teach you ALL THINGS, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

God does not require your help to teach His own Word to you or to anyone else besides you.

Romans 12:3-4 KJV

For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

[4] For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:

One may have years of experiences in the ministry preaching the gospel of the Kingdom of God or in manifesting the power and gifts of the Holy Spirit for the Kingdom but every Spirit-filled member of the Body has their own talents, gifts and offices in the Body.

No member is greater than any other to assert authority and power over one another in the Body of Christ.

Have you not read that,

"But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant"?

Do you call your servant your spiritual father, teacher or master?

Remember the Parable of the labourers of the vineyard in Matthew 20:1-16?

Matthew 20:12 KJV

Saying, These last have wrought but one hour, and thou hast made them equal unto us, which have borne the burden and heat of the day.

Matthew 20:16 KJV

So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.

Did you not understand that all brethren are equal, none is regarded higher than another by God regardless of whether you are first or last to enter the Kingdom of God, or how experienced you are or how long you are in Christ?

What matters to God is how faithful you have been in your own walk and the fruit that you bear;

"but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven."

Luke 19:17 KJV

And he said unto him,

Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities.

Matthew 7:16-21 KJV

Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

[17] Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

[18] A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

[19] Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

[20] Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

[21] Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Brethren,

Let us STOP following blindly the traditions of Churchianity that has corrupted our way, our truth and our life "but to think soberly. according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith".

Let us STOP referring one another as spiritual fathers and sons.

Let us STOP thinking of ourselves more highly than we ought to think.

Let us STOP assuming Authority and Leadership over the members of the Body where we should really be servants of the Body.

Let us STOP this blasphemy and give the Throne back to our Lord Jesus Christ, the King of kings, the Lord of lords.

He is the Vine, we are only the branches, regardless of how great you think you are.

For without Him we can do nothing.

Colossians 1:16-20 KJV

For by Him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him:

[17] And He is before all things, and by Him all things consist.

[18] And He is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things He might have the preeminence.

[19] For it pleased the Father that in Him should all fulness dwell;

[20] And, having made peace through the blood of His cross, by Him to reconcile all things unto Himself; by Him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
