A word of Wisdom: Good Works Not Humanitarian Works

A word of Wisdom:

Good Works Not Humanitarian Works

John 10:32 KJV

Jesus answered them,

Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?

John 14:12-15 KJV

Verily, verily, I say unto you,

He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also;

and greater works than these shall he do;

because I go unto my Father.

[13] And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

[14] If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

[15] If ye love me, keep my commandments.

Believers worldwide have been misled and confused by the Enemy to replace good works commanded by Christ with the humanitarian works by man in this evil world.

Humanitarian works are not the good works that Jesus commanded us. According to the Word they are almsdeeds.

Humanitarian works are deeds that prove your hearts have been transformed by Christ before God.

James 1:27 KJV

Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this,

To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

While humanitarian works are good, charitable deeds or almsdeeds and the right thing to do as a believer.

It is NOT the good works that our Lord Jesus has commanded us to do.

Such almsdeeds should come as the fruit of walking in the Spirit and the outward manifestation of bearing the fruit of the Spirit.

It is by no means a replacement of doing the good works and greater works in obeying what our Lord Jesus has commanded us to observe.

What are the good works He has commanded us to do?

Matthew 10:7-8 KJV

And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.

[8] Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils:

freely ye have received, freely give.

Matthew 28:18-20 KJV

And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying,

All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

[19] Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

[20] Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo,

I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Mark 16:15-18,20 KJV

And he said unto them,

Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

[16] He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

[17] And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

[18] They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

[20] And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

These good works require the supernatural power that Jesus has given us contrary to walking by our own might, power and money in doing humanitarian works.

Let us look at the Scripture for the good works mentioned by Jesus again:

John 14:12-15 KJV

Verily, verily, I say unto you,

He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also;

and greater works than these shall he do;

because I go unto my Father.

[13] And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

[14] If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

[15] If ye love me, keep my commandments.

What are the works that Jesus did throughout His ministry on earth as the Son of man?

How is it that "greater works than these shall he do because I go unto my Father"?

How could this be referring to humanitarian works or good charitable deeds?

If He is really referring to good, charitable deeds or merely showing love to neighbours,

how is it that these good deeds that can be accomplished by our own strength that we even have the need to ask in His Name to accomplish it?

And how will these good humanitarian deeds glorify the Father if we do not require the manifestation of His power or supernatural interventions to accomplish the deeds,

to proclaim the Kingdom of God to the people around us?

Good works are not humanitarian works.

If you have done the latter but have totally ignored the former which is the primary thing that our Lord Jesus has commanded us to observe,

then you have not been following after "whatsoever I have commanded you".

You have been a disobedient believer, even an unbelieving believer.

Matthew 5:16 KJV

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
